📞 Your Potential Called—It’s Tired of Waiting

And honestly? It’s wondering what’s taking so long.

Let’s talk about what actually makes someone stand out during the hiring process.

This week, I had some incredible candidates.
They didn’t have it all figured out.
They didn’t have perfect résumés.
They weren’t from top schools or fancy companies.

But they showed up.
They were consistent.
They were intentional.
And they took action.

They confirmed meetings, followed up without being reminded, turned things in on time, asked great questions, and communicated like they were already part of the team.

It wasn’t about being “perfect”—it was about being proactive and professional.

And I can’t help but think about how often I see the opposite:

🚫Missed meetings without notice

🚫Résumés sent without proofreading

🚫Calendar invites left hanging

🚫One-word replies to important emails

🚫No questions asked during interviews

🚫Radio silence after saying “I’ll follow up”

Here’s the thing most people don’t realize:

How you do one thing is how you do everything.

If you ghost your coach, you’ll probably ghost your boss.
If you’re not double-checking your work now, you won’t magically start when you’re hired.
If you don’t take initiative during the job search, you likely won’t take initiative at work either.

🙅‍♀️ This isn’t about perfection—it’s about effort.

Hiring managers, recruiters, and professionals like me are paying attention to the little things. They’re not just looking for skills—they’re looking for someone they can count on. And believe me: reliability is magnetic in this market.

So let’s flip the script.

Want to be the candidate that companies remember?
Start practicing the habits of someone who's already in the room:

🔹 Reply to emails like a professional (with your name and contact info)
🔹 Accept calendar invites and show up on time
🔹 Communicate your availability clearly and early
🔹 Do your research—on the company, the team, the role
🔹 Ask thoughtful questions and express genuine interest
🔹 Follow up with a thank you note, even if it’s just 3 sentences

'

All of this says: I care, I’m serious, and I’m ready.

And when you're consistently showing up like that?
You become the person hiring managers are excited to hire.
